Film review: Slumberland, directed by: Francis Lawrence, 2022

Unlike the gloomy tone that dominates many of the movies these days, the movie "Slumberland" is a colorful feast for the eyes. He is very optimistic and happy, full of jokes and lightheartedness and generally contagious optimism.

The movie "Slumberland" deals with mental resilience, and although it sounds like something very heavy, it manages to touch on it in a qualitative way but not too pedagogically.

The heroine's father is lost at sea and her daughter Nima (Marlow Barkley) has to deal with the difficult life that results. In the morning she faces a new school she is transferring to, but at night she arrives in a dreamland, where everything is possible.

In the fantasy world, she meets a special guide named Flip (Jason Momoa), who helps her go through a dangerous journey on the way to meet her father. On the one hand, there is a lot of fun, but also sophisticated allegories, which need a lot of thought to understand the message behind them. That is why the movie "Slumberland" is suitable for all ages and for joint family viewing.

The movie "Slumberland" is a movie that really suits everyone. Also because it is educational and light and especially because it tries to be serious and funny at the same time.
